The morning had turned out to be rather crisp indeed. The Princess had made her way to the temple of the goddess not to ask for help, but to take refuge. She was giving birth soon. She was already over due. She had taken refuge here for a few nights already and she could feel her labor closing in on her. She had not seen Erech in weeks and she had not the physical means nor the time to search for him. He had disappeared somewhere and she couldn't search for him. Sighing, she turned away from the stone window and back into her make shift home once again. The temple was in ruins and large stone slabs laid broken upon the ground in multiple places. Shadows enveloped the entire temple and the place was in absolute ruin but she had somehow, someway had seen the potential here in both a some what of a home as well as a place to give birth. She circled the room, gazing at the broken stone that was far too large to be moved by any human and nor would she try. Statues were broken into pieces and scattered about the temple. It was time to make her way back to the shadows once more. As her labors grew ever more sharp and closer together, she sighed and sank away into the shadows of the temple to give birth.

The evening was vibrant. Stars sprinkled the inky night sky and there, not far to her right rested her two beautiful little ones, finally sleeping. Fed and happily settled into make shift covers that she had spent time before her birthing to sew together. It was not fancy. It was not made of silk. There was not a blanket in soft pink and one in light blue for her son and daughter. No. There was none of that for her twins had to be born in a ruined temple, instead of their true castle home. It saddened her that her own children would be born in the shadows of the temple instead of their true Ellsinora home but so was the ways of their life at the moment.
She sat at the edge of the temple entrance. Her eyes scanned the night sky thoughtfully now. She sat with her legs crossed and her hands folded before herself as she sighed softly and stared skyward. Things were so much different now. Erech was supposedly gone and the rest of the world was in just as much chaos as this temple happened to be. Her twins Dastan and Delilah had been born but now, there were other things to be done as well. Her babies slept in simple bland shades of cream and grey, shabby but warm for the little bundles of pure joy for the princess. She could only smile when she looked upon the angelic faces of her little ones but her mind was leaping ahead. This world could not be left to the wicked. There was no rest for the wicked and so there would be no rest for her.
Her home was in shambles. Her life had been turned upside down. She refused to let her babies face a life that was not truly theirs. They were of royal blood through and through from her side only but that still entitled them and she intended to give them titles as well. She was certain that if she looked, she could find others that would join her. But the only question was where to look. The last she had traveled she had been within Ellsinora when her current home had been within the healer's, the last place that she had seen Erech as well. It had been a few weeks before her due date and now she sat alone in the temple of the goddess. She had not come to pray and she would not. Prayer was useless for look at the world now. If the goddess truly protected them then she would have saved the world from such destruction.
Sighing, the Princess stood and turned back to her young. Kneeling, she brushed the tip of her finger to each little cheek in turn with a soft smile before she gathered her thin skirts about her legs and made her way towards the edge of the room. While she had been on her own, her crude bow and arrows were her only source of protection and she had learned to use them well. Now, she bent forward and lifted an arrow with the carved stone head and lifted it to her neck. Lifting her free hand she gathered her hair tightly within her hand and lifted the arrow to saw at her own hair. She didn't cut it so it looked like a man but instead it was a cute bob that most women dared not try. Long hair seemed valued in their times but she needed to be sure that she would not be stopped and questioned or arrested on site for being noticed as the princess. A few hours into the night and her hair feathered out about her face to either side and was a few shades darker then it had been thanks to a few root oils she had extracted from a root or two and she now had the twins bundled at her front and back. Dastan rested at her back with Delilah cradled to her breast. Now she was ready to set out.
Her body was curved and slightly worn from birth but signs of her old slender figure remained and with the fact that she had grown rather abnormally thin she was showing signs of the fact of being too thin. She took what food she could get to provide the nutrition she needed for her little ones but she herself was growing a bit too small however she still did not come across as weak. Her skirts had been trimmed a few inches to give her free movement and with her hair shorter and a bit darker, she was prepared to set out. She had no belongings to pack and take with her save for her babies and her bow and arrows and so this was all she took. She would need to spread the word. She already had a symbol in mind. She would lead with the Northern star on her arm, pasted in blue from a few shriveled blueberries that she had snatched from the cold hard ground and boiled a bit. The northern star crossed over in a tilted cross was painted upon her fore arm. This was the symbol she began to paint across the trees wherever she went. People would see and they would wonder what it meant. It would lead them to her and she would offer them rebellion, redemption from the clasp of the wicked and the greedy. She would offer them freedom from the destruction that Magrej and his minions had caused. She would offer them to fight alongside of her as a Freedom Fighter, one that longed for the freedom and the beauty of their landscape once again. She would fight without fear and she would devote her life. If she had to she would give her children to safety until either she died or could retrieve them. She would not sacrifice her babies but she would sacrifice herself. She was supposed to be the future Queen and she sure as hell would not sit aside and watch the people wither away beneath the hands of the shadows.
