Was it that the rainbow touching the sky was truly the footpath to the gates of heaven? Not heaven in the deathly sense, but rather that it was a place of peace where all hopes and dreams where finally meet. To the woman who watched the alluring shades of fading colour it seemed that only this could be the answer. That just beyond the horizon of sight would lie a shape so familiar to her she could have etched his face for every detail in something as simple as sand. Her feet moved, and her eyes seemed to indicate a surprise for this simple movement. It was so lovely! How the very world around her seemed to slip past her with a few sweeping movements of her feet. It was a wonder that captivated until she was walking faster, and faster, and in no time she was running. Long legs and long strides swallowed away the surroundings until it was a blur to her own eyes.
Even through she barely seemed to control her own movements, they where agile and beautiful in fluidity. Each space of her stride was even and almost purposeful. Yet, when her eyes slipped closed – to properly enjoy the strange feel of the wind whipping across her face and smothering along her hair – everything went topsy-turvy. It was like the world couldn’t stand to watch her move by and not make a movement of it’s own. Everything changed and up became down, the lady found herself lying in the fine dirt, blinking open her eyes once more. What wasn’t clear to her fragile mind, was that when she closed her eyes her mind could no longer see where she was going. It was not the world moving around her, it was simply her feet slipping, tripping on the ground and bringing her down.
Her arms would stretch out and feel against the ground. Child-like wonder, an awe across her face at the course, yet soft feel of the dirt between her fingers. If she ground it together it was like a solid shape within her palm, yet when her fingers un-grasped it slid to the ground, free of restriction. A soft laugh would escape her lips, a wondrous sound so soft in her unspoiled tones. She would find her way back to her feet once more – heaven knows how, and once more she would begin to walk. Walk until the crumbling grey stones where before her, and she was in the ruins of what was once a great village. To her eyes there was nothing decaying about it, in face the stones seemed to come alive in her mind. Clearly they had a mind of there own, breaking free of there cages and crumbling into hundreds more of themselves on the hard ground. They where free creature, fighting for what they believed in, despite the oppression of there creators. She would stand here, within the village, and spread out her arms and hum, hum to the walls, the ruins, encouraging them to take that leap. Her eyes slipped closed once more but this time the world did not respond to this. She remained on her feet, still, and beautiful, with her wind-swept hair humming around her shoulders and down her back.
