I will be using dice to determine certain things about the child.
Gender:
Odd Numbers- Female
Even Numbers- Male
Basic Appearance:
1,2,3- Traits will be strongest from the mother such as coloring and hair color
4,5,6- Traits will be strongest from the father
Special Roll:
If I roll a "4" then it means that the female will have twins or possibly even more offspring depending on the species.
If I roll a "6" then there will be some sort of complication with the pregnancy or birth.
Please note that this not details because we have so many things that can happen. It depends on the species and current condition of the parents.
