Looks: A girly name for a girly girl- at least, that’s the explanation River always received for her feminine name. While her small frame and slender build does give River the appearance of being a princess waiting for her knight in shining armor, anyone with half a brain would be wary around the female. River stands at 5’5 ½, putting her on the smaller end of the height scale, and she definitely doesn’t weigh much (the grand total being around 128 pounds). However, the woman has the high cheeks of someone whose ancestors lived a wild past and her eyes are what one would venture to describe as cat-like. They are keen, intelligent, and the color of them is like the sky after a storm.
River wasn’t ever a rich girl, and years of hard labor had given her the lean muscles of someone holding enough strength and agility to spare. Her skin gives her the appearance of being out in the sun all the time, but River prefers to stick in the shadows; she simply has naturally dark skin, given that her parents were dark as well.
The woman has dark brown hair; it is not dark to the point of where one would mistake it for black. Her hair is naturally curly, and unless she ties it up or wrestles with it for an hour, her hair will forever defy gravity. River likes to take the easy way out in terms of appearance and keeps her hair up.
One will most often find River wearing something that allows her to move easily; she is used to running, and anything that restricts her makes her feel tense and anxious. Her preferred outfit is a simple pair of trousers she stole from her brother, and a shirt tight enough to make sure people know that, yes, she is a ma’m.
Personality: Tenacity is River’s middle name; once she has her mind set on something, she will do all she can to complete this goal. Her lack of loyalty to most means that she doesn’t care what happens- in some cases, the end justifies the means, and this usually comes to play whenever she is doing something. This doesn’t mean that she plows on like a blind animal; River knows when it is best to simply give up, and despite her tenacious nature, she finds it easy to drop an experiment and pick up a new one. This is primarily because River doesn’t form attachments easily. To her, attachments to inanimate things are simply worthless, and she doesn’t really bother to socialize, so what else can one expect?
While River is capable of leading every once in awhile, she is a natural loner, and when in a group she prefers to be in the know, but also lurking on the outside. Knowledge is incredibly important to her, and she will sacrifice her sanity by chatting to someone in order to gain knowledge. River also picks up and retains information quickly; she prided herself on this skill and used it often, until she became very good at manipulating the behavior of organisms, ranging from a chicken to a human.
Given her total lack of social skills, River finds it quite easy to simply ignore someone that is annoying her. The ignored can be getting mauled by a bear and she’ll continue to sit in the dark and whistle to herself.
River is easily offended, though, and her sarcasm usually shows through because of this. However, River is a good actress and, when she wants or needs to; she can transform herself into a fearless serial killer or an elegant princess. Because, let’s face it: good acting comes down to good observation.
