The morning was once again turning out brighter then the day before, thankfully. With each passing day after the storm, things were looking more and more back to normal. The eldest Princess Alexa however had not yet returned to the castle for very long. She had spent little time in the castle staying only for a rare meal and a change of clothes before heading back out onto the street once again where she had lingered with the people and had pitched in to help clean the streets of debris and unfortunately, bodies. She had helped to clean the streets as she had been for a few days now since the storm had cleared and finally, sunshine was beginning to peek down at them from the clouds. The weather was growing warmer and the rain was dissipating. The grey clouds were beginning to clear and those that had survived the storm were stirring once again. Many were feeling pain and sorrow for there had been a few deaths in Kiyer and as an ultimate show of respect, Alexa had swallowed her fear and uneasiness and had helped prepare and wrap the bodies honorably to be sent out across one of the lakes that lingered among the forest at the back of the castle where the bodies would be laid in ships and sent out to the lake and where archers with fire lit arrows would fire their arrows at the ships and light them ablaze to burn to ashes and sink to the bottom of the lake, the ultimate burial for those that had lost their lives in the storm.
Now, the princess stood on her heels, lifting a board up into the hands of a man that stood on the roof of his house fixing damage to his home that the storm had stripped the top of his house of. The princess was dressed in a typical dress but it was simple today, a simple ivory and gold but she had her sleeves pushed back to her elbows and her feet were bare. She left her skirts alone as she knew that it was disrespectful for women, royals especially to show more skin then was needed, not that she wanted to be showing her legs to anyone but her future husband anyways in all honesty. The humidity however was stifling and the fact that she had not eaten much in the past few days was taking a toll on her form as she straightened from where she had stood stretching her arms skyward and now as she stood straight, she swayed slight, rather dizzy for a moment but she quickly recovered and smiled softly to a woman as she approached, carrying a heavy basket filled with clothing that she was bringing back from washing to the home that the man worked to repair. The Princess smiled, stepping forward to take hold of one side of the basket and the woman at the other as the pair of women made their way into the house to set the basket in her parlor before Alexa wandered back outside again with a soft sigh, gazing around herself thoughtfully for a moment with her hands at her hips and her bright blue eyes searching the streets of Kiyer.
Things were looking much better. She had managed to gather a group of people, all eager to clean up the streets of the town, driven by the kindness and the show of the eldest Princess that had bothered to keep herself from the comforts of her home to help them repair their town. Most of the debris had been cleared away by now and now most of the work was in rebuilding parts of homes and buildings that had been pulled apart or damaged, and gathering animals back to their proper homes and stables. Just as she was gazing down the street, she spotted a slight movement in a basket to her right. Turning, Alexa strode forward and bent down to lift the small bundle of fiery orange and white fur into the palm of her hands. The small kitten trembled and mewed softly as she peered up at Alexa with frightened eyes. She smiled and stroked the back of the kitten, passing the small bundle of fur into the hands of a passing young girl who grinned and toddled off with giggles of glee. With a smile the Princess straightened again with a soft sigh. She was satisfied, the preparations were moving along nicely. Kiyer would be back on track before long. Across the street stood the Blue Boar, the place that she had taken refuge from the storm within nights before and while the night was laced with fear and drama, it was also laced with beauty and passion, the place where she had truly taken the next step with Erech. A smile lit her features and she turned her gaze once again as she took a moment, pondering thoughts of furthering the cleanup effort of the town.
