The lone figure stood silent on the mountain cliff overlooking Murate. Wind caressed the ebony hair, several inches shorter then it had been days before. Dark blue eyes looked over the shadow land, chest rose is a sad sigh. Turning the outlaw queen slowly walked back through the caverns with a heavy heart. Ellsinora would be swallowed by that shadow, she could feel it. The drip of the water from the cavern roof was the only thing wet though, Black Star had no tears for the failure of Ellsinora. They had refused her help, then she would not be there when they screamed for hope. Perhaps it was time to move on. Magrej would soon be going for the lands across Dirya sea, perhaps the Guardian would have actual support there.
But, today she was sending her Grellon to a small seaside village. It was called Baneer, it would be the safest place for them. As many of the Grellon were Kaian, people of the sea, then they would be just fine in a fishing village. It made her heart ache to send her people away from their village. She had already arranged it so that Orion, Asterion, Suko, Allaire and a few Ellsinorian men would be accompanying her to Kiyer. They would stay there until she chose her next move.
Black Star walked to her group, her eyes dark grey with sadness. "Until we meet again my people." With that, the young woman nodded to a man named Razul. He would be leading them to Baneer. Razul bowed deeply and started to lead them away. Black Star was alone in the camp within an hour. Anger flickered in her eyes. She would never again assist Ellsinorian royalty, it had cost her to much. But she no longer cared who knew her secret. Using her power as Guardian, she created a ball of fire and tossed it at a hut. Soon all the makeshift huts were burnt to nothing, ash blowing away in the wind.
The Grellon was no more.
Black Star sighed and turned to leave. She stared at the ground as she moved away. Rain slowly began to fall as the slim femme figure started her trek to Kiyer. Razul would see the little Grellon village safely to Baneer. She needed to think. Deep in thought and not expecting anyone, she was startled to suddenly run into black cold metal. Snarling and leaping back, dagger drawn, she focused on the stranger.
He was tall, dark, and she had to admit he was handsome. He looked at her with something she had not seen in quite some time, quiet admiration. He did not have hatred or coldness in those scarlet orbs. But he was clearly Muratian. To her surprise he bowed stately, "My apologies." She did not sheath her dagger but she did stand from her wary crouch. " Are you lost?" She asked, caution in her tone. He shook his head, " No, I believe I have found what I was looking for. I believe you are the one called Black Star?" Black Star sheathed her dagger with caution and nodded slowly. He continued, " I am Siarles, a lord of Murate. Do not be alarmed, I simply wished to speak with you. I understand you control the Black Market in both Ellsinora and Murate and I was interested. But I also hear that you have a rather extensive system of spies." Black Star snarled, how did he know this? This was stuff that was not exactly public information. Had he been spying on her?
Siarles made a bold move, lifting his gloved hand he ran fingers across her cheek. He was promptly rewarded with a hard bite and Black Star darting into the lower branches of the tree next to him. Scarlet orbs searched the trees for the feminine form. "They were right though, you are quite lovely. Spirited too, quite the little tempest. Fitting for the outlaw queen I suppose." That last comment received a hiss and he suddenly had a squirrel chucked at his head. Shouting in surprise he peeled the angry creature off his face, but not before it gave him several scratches. Black Star laughed hard, almost falling out of the tree. Siarles looked irritated but did not lose his temper. So, now I know, no insults. My apologies once more. Now would you please be a nice damsel and come where I can see you?"
Black Star landed deftly behind the tall Muratian lord, " Speak then." Siarles turned around, this tie making sure to keep his hands to himself. His sharp eyes drifted over her form and he hungered after this charming and fiery woman. But before he could reply, thunder trumped and rain began to fall harder. Black Star instantly turned and disappeared under a cliff overhang. The armored lord followed her. Black Star sat quietly with her back against the rock wall. It was at least dry here. Siarles had decided it would be much better the charm this wood nymph then force her to do anything. He settled down next to her and set down his black helmet on the dry earth. I am undermining Magrej to be honest with you. You seem to be the root of the black market and you also are a bit of a thorn in his side as I understand. I have my own spies, I have learned quite a bit about you." Siarles was actually being strangely polite.
You see, the Muratian lord was not known for his kindness. He killed more people in cold blood then Magrej himself. Now he had a scheme to slowly undermine and push over Magrej. Siarles desired to become Araxes' power pet. But he needed help and he suspected that this outlaw queen could give him the tools he needed. But Black Star was silent and thoughtful. She shook her head, " Absolutely not, have a nice day." With that she stood suddenly and walked out into the storm. Siarles was just as agile, also leaping to his feet and following her. "Why not?" He demanded, tone cold and rigid. Black Star laughed and simply kept walking.
Siarles decided he may as well get something for his trouble. Moving forward he managed to grab her arm. Pulling the outlaw queen toward him he kissed her. Black Star was startled and started to pull away with a snarl, but Siarles did not let go. The outlaw's struggles ceased as she actually began to enjoy this sensation. Tingling run down her spine as she shuddered in enjoying the moment. Siarles stepped away and ran a hand under her chin. Strangely, Black Star did not pull away. But the Muratian lord gave sharp whistle which caused his steed, an immense black mare, to appear. Mounting he left. Scarlet eyes glanced back, but the outlaw queen was already gone.
Siarles had actually fulfilled his real purpose.
Placing his helmet back on his head, the mare was directed toward Ohanzee. Siarles had the information that he had been seeking. For years, he had studied both the sky gem and the Guardian, but also the darker power of Araxes. Black Star's eyes had changed color with her moods, and he had seen a blue gem glowing from her dagger hilt. Siarles was positive that he had found the Guardian. That would gain him access to Magrej. Rashok? Rashok's time was over, he was useless. Siarles actually had things to offer Magrej. But he was irritated at himself, he should have easily just stolen the information from Black Star instead of coaxing it from her. But she was a wild beauty and silently he vowed that he would one day own her. She would be a new challenge for him, one that he would not force. She would someday love him.
Black Star was furious with herself as she stalked toward Kiyer. She had let him kiss her and not only that, she had enjoyed it! Kasheem may very well still be alive but his charming fiancee was off having fun with another man, a Muratian lord none the less! But still, he had said that he was against Magrej. Not only that, but damn it he was handsome. Not to mention she was attracted to that bad boy aura of his. But she had to forget about him, she had to move on. Black Star had duties to preform after all.....but she would not be forgetting that kiss for quite some time.
