It was a clear day, the sun bright, and a blue female dragon flew above. She was of a mighty breed of dragon, she was long and slender, holding no wings upon her back, her flight was merely the use of Dragon Flight, a ancient magic that only dragons held, just like the Dragons fire within her lungs. She had just came back to the human world, hoping to find a safe haven, One that would give her child in her claws a life that may be much better then her own. Between her claws of the massive dragon was a pearly white egg. It was the Dragons everything, a mothers pride.
The mother swam in the air, not noting the pointing humans within the city below, she had grown up in a land without them, and did not know what to make of the angry shouts and curses telling her that she and her kinds tyrant days where over. She did not know what to make of the rows of humans pulling back bows, and others reading crossbows, ready to bring down the majestic beast. She watched there movements with great curiosity, her ancestors had lived in this world many years ago, she knew what the bows where and thought them little use against her, but she had no knowledge of the fact that bows have been greatly improved since the stone age, that they now are able to bring down her own kind.
As she flew over the wall, she watched as the weapons fallowed her move, and as the bowman released at her. Everything seemed to slow, time almost stopping as the arrows flew at her, the blue dragon had little time to pull in her baby, little time to protect that only thing important to her, she covered the egg with both her front claws. A loud roar lifted from her muzzle as the arrows priced her flesh. Her flight wavered, almost dropping from the sky all together, the dragon cried again, pooling all her magic into the single act of flight...
She flew as far as she could from the hostile land, and soon found herself unable to fly anymore, as a waterfall came into her view, she knew where her baby would have to go, even if she died, the mother would get her child to safety, and then maybe the baby will have a chance in the world...
The Baby knew nothing of the world, she only knew of the knowledge given to her by her mother and her father. The great dragons who have lived long lives, dragons who have lived a peaceful life within the dragon world. Now it was her turn to shine, it was her turn to show the elder dragons her vast knowledge.
Just like every dragon before her, this little baby knew what her name was, she knew what her parents wished to call her, it was a fitting name for one so wild, Thera.
She knew her mother was close, she could feel it within her shells, but something was wrong, something seemed to be sapping her mothers power, seemed to be pulling everything from her, Thera wanted to help, she wanted to know why her mother seemed to be leaving her, she was about to hit the hard shell that separated her from her mother with the hard beak that all baby dragons are barn with but soon lose.
But before she could make the first hit, she felt her egg falling and then hit water, she felt her mothers last ounce of power float her under the waterfall and into hiding, and last she felt her mothers last breath as she mind talked to Thera 'Be happy, my dear, and know that I love you....' With that the baby dragon felt the last of her mother fad...
The small dragon shrieked within its protective shield, and brought her hard beck against the shell. Wanting more then anything to get to her mothers side...

The day was new, the peels of the sun just climbing over the horizon. The peach and purple hues were beginning to stain the sky and the morning mist and dew was preparing to melt away. The beginning stirrings of the sprite people were already about and waking from their homes and Celeste Falls was stirring to life once again. Behind the falls and behind the view of the crashing waters laid the realm of the Fairies, Titania’s realm. Currently, the Queen was seated upon her throne wrapped in a rich and natural green silken wrap that hugged her feminine form serenely. Taking a breath, the female released it slowly once more without opening her mouth. The world was currently at peace for even the humans had yet to rise. The Queen was in a state of meditation almost it seemed. She too was resting and yet alert all at once, her mind at ease and her hands folded into her lap. Her shoulders were slumped forward a bit in relaxation and her emerald eyes were closed, her lips pressed together in a relaxed line as she rested.
It had been some hours since she had stirred but all at once, things changed. The air seemed to grow thick and her lungs rather suddenly filled sharply with air. Her eyes flitted open, emerald giving way to blazing gold as she righted herself in her carved wooden seat, her eyes seeking the source of pain that flashed through her heart. It was the kind of pain that only a mother felt. Pain that she would feel in some months and yet this pain was not her own. This pain was different, from someone else. It was death giving her a rather sharp kick in the butt again and breaking the peace. The pain lanced her heart and she sighed, her eyes dulling slightly for a moment before flaring once more. The death ended rather quickly, and relief once again spread through her form, her shoulders straightened all over again as she was now alert. Craning her neck, she stretched her limbs and stood from the throne, the ivy leaves that plaited the floor to either side seeming to retract as she stood away from them and strode across the room. At the mother’s death, there came a new pain, a new desperation. It was close and formulating like a pooling pit of water. There was a baby nearby.
Worry trickled her spine as she stiffened and approached the edge of her domain. The checkered floor of rich wood stretched out beneath her bare feet and her eyes sought out the winding path through her realm. The flutter of sprites about gathered within her view and yet it was further. This one was not of her kind. She swallowed, her right hand lifting to stroke her fingers at her throat. Her wings twitched at her back and a soft squeak escaped her lips as she released her breath once more. She stepped forward and left the edge, lifting into the air as she traveled forward, the glowing trail left behind stretching as she lifted higher before descending to flutter along the path towards the entrance to her realm. As she drifted closer, the desperation grew stronger. The baby was close by. She reached the slick stone that would lead her out to the falls and her soft song fell from her lips, her hands outstretching to seemingly push away the rocks before she swiftly leaped through the narrow entrance and out into the narrow space behind the falling water, revealing the pearlescent egg that was nestled down below amongst the stone.
The fairy took in a sharp breath, her eyes wide at the sight for a moment before she fluttered forward and lowered downward to pause just at the egg, her fingers gracing the shell as she gazed upon the sight. Lifting her head, she sent a glance among the crashing waters and even through the filaments of water could be seen the huge blue form beyond. Here is where the pain was etched. She fluttered upwards and slipped past the falls to the other side where she found the mother’s form, lifeless and empty by now. Her soul having escaped skyward by now. She sighed, coming to rest at the mother’s cheek for a moment, kneeling forward to stroke her lids closed and send a silent prayer to the dead mother, a soft promise that she would care for the little one to the best of her ability for no doubt that there was no a dragon hatchling about to emerge with no mother to nestle to. Swallowing, the Queen stood and turned to face the falls once more, her hands folded in front of herself as she gazed upon the falling waters before making her way forward, flitting past the water into the narrow space once again as she tuned in to the dragon within that now pecked and festered to break free and as she waited, the Queen took to singing, knowing that babies of other species often tuned in to the voice that reached them first, gentle and caring and would attune to their mothers natural or not and with this baby’s mother gone, she would now need new guidance and though they would be at odds end of the scale, the Queen would do her best to guide this baby to a proper life.

As the baby frantically worked at the shell she knew that it was too late, her mother was gone, she had left for the Great Dragon Paradise, where only the best and most powerful dragons go, her mother would go, her fire burning brightly and meet her there when her life was also over. But that within itself would take a long time, her kind lived a long time, unless killed, and Thera did not plane to get killed any time soon. She would make sure of that.
But even with the thought of her mother already dead she still worked at the shell, knowing that it was time that she took care of herself, that she needed to make her apprentice in the world, and make her mark. Even if she did not have a mother...
Singing reached through the shell, lovely singing, it was a voice of nature itself, of the balance and everything good, it was caring and loving, it was a voice that a mother would have as the sang to there own children, at that moment the baby knew that even with her mother dead, she would still have someone caring for her, she would still have a mom, and the singer now was going to be it.
The little girl who was driven to finish what it had started started pulling little bits of shell into the small creak that she had made. With a wide entice the small girl popped her head out. looking about. Her multi-toned eyes look over the small form of a human, but she was not, Thera knew that she could not be human, and it was not the wings upon her back that gave it away, it was the feeling of the pureness that floated from her, the good that was within the being of her. Yes this would be a fairy, and not only that the Queen herself. Thera pulled all this knowledge from within her mind, knowing that it came from her past ancestors, knowing that the knowledge she had was from her Dragons Knowledge, something all dragons held within them self.
She lifted her paws from within her old home and pushed down upon the hard shell causing it to crack and break under her claws. She then moved from within the egg and made her way into the stones that surrounded the egg.Her small fluffy body moving closer to her, her eyes child like even with the vast knowledge that filled her mind. She went right up to the fairy queens form her paws now resting on the queens legs, Thera's large eyes looking into hers, and as she relaxed a bit a large toothy grin appeared. "Hi momma, I'm Thera."

The Queen sat on her knees upon the slick stone watching as the pearl oval shifted and cracked, pieces of the shell falling in on itself as the baby dragon hatched. Titania smiled, tilting her head slightly to the sight of the baby dragon as she began to emerge. She sang steadily for quite some time, her tone coming soft and inviting for the tiny dragon as she awaited the birth. Her golden tresses were tied back for now, her elegant bun poised at the back of her head and her eyes coming to take on a soft toned jade that matched the silks that she was wrapped in. With her hands folded into her lap and her feet tucked beneath herself, her eyes watched the egg with a soft smile upon her features and only once the baby hatched, did she fall silent. She knew that just past the falls in the crystal pool rested the body of the baby’s mother and yet as she hatched the darling knew that already, her knew mother was not a dragon but instead, a fairy. Titania herself outstretched her hands gently to lift the dragon into her hold, wrapping her arms around the dragon’s neck with a smile as she hugged her gently with a grin before she brushed her hands along the baby’s head and limbs, checking that everything was normal and intact.
Once figuring out that each and every body part was in good shape, she smiled, nodding with satisfaction. With her gaze lit with a soft tone of gold rather quickly, her form shifted to stand as she gauged the size of the dragon with a grin. The baby was small indeed, tiny in fact in dragon standards and yet already, the dragon was the size of herself so carrying the darling would be impossible. It would be like carrying another of herself which did not seem so impossible but when flying, such an extra weight could throw a fairy off and the next thing to come about could easily come as them both winding right back up on the ground. She huffed gently at the dragon and stroked Thera’s cheek, ”Darling child, you are precious and beautiful and I am sorry that life already offers you lemons but none the less, let’s make something sweet. Do you yet understand how to fly?” she inquired of the young female as she gazed down upon the form, adoring of the baby dragon at first look.
Within her life time she never would have guessed that she would be mothering a dragon of all things. The creature was precious and young and yet intelligent still, knowledgeable in ways that Titania had yet to figure out. As she gazed upon the small form, she knew that this would be a challenge for she was a fairy after all and here before her, was a dragon and yet where would she take her if she did not take her in? She could not take her to the humans. They would not treat her properly. She shook her head at the thought and gathered her feet with a flick of her wings, smiling gently, ”Come darling, we must get home.” she assured her softly with a small nod as she motioned for the baby to stand once more before she turned a circle on the stone, waiting to see if the baby would follow her before she turned and began to weave her magic to open the entrance into her realm.

Thera watched as the fairy checked her all over. And smiled in sanctification to know that she was in top condition. With her small head resting on the even small arms of the fairy, she knew that her life was to be different then most young dragons. She would be without the guidance of a elder, but that was fine, she knew that the creature in front of her was a kind being and will take good care of her until she is able to care for herself.
The Child looked up at her face, her soft whiskers flowing down her form. She was a lovely thing, with soft whites and grays, and she knew it, with her voice the baby puffed out her chest and got this high and mighty look about her. "I was born with the Knowledge of Dragon Flight, yes." She gathered her magic under her slender form and lifted her body up into the air. Her claws seemingly to grip that air as her tail swirled about her.
She watched as her new mother pulled in her own magic and opened an entice. The Dragon peered inside, her multi-toned eyes watching as other fairy's passed there eyes glancing at there queen then at her, going from smiles to that of shock. It seemed that word spreads fast, for once a few fairies gathered more just seemed to pour from nowhere to look at the dragon, she puffed what was the start of her Dragon's Fire ability, becoming uncomfortable.
But it was what it was, she would live with those people for her childhood so she needed to get used to being looked at, so with a last look behind her, Thera started forward, her small body weaving in and out of the air, the memory of the time with her real mother swirling in her mind, she knew that life would be great, that her disappointments and sadness can only make her that much stronger, yes her mother would be missed and loved, but there was no reason to dell on it, she had a new mother, someone kind and loving, so her life was great.
The Young Dragon swam the air past her mother and smiled at her, her eyes showing nothing but a trouble maker gleam. Yes life would be interesting, and beautiful, and Thera hoped her mother was up to it. "Come momma your people are waiting."
OOC- this seems to be a good end xD
