The strong wind had blown high in the sky since the phoenix had left the castle. Jahanarwa was free, after three years of restraint. She knew that Magrej would have felt her power, but he would think it to be that fake guardian brat that the royals of Ellsinora had in their castle. Now the untamed tempest was released and she was certainly enjoying herself. It was good to have her wings again, good to feel the wind in her face, heart pounding and pulse racing with adrenaline. To the average creature below, it would simply look like a bird high in the air. But in reality it was a massive phoenix with tremendous wingspan. The fire that created the creature was white and blue. A long sweeping tail, much like the what can be found on a Paradise bird trailed and on the fine head was a set of plumes. The phoenix was headed directly to the temple of the goddess.
It was dawn as the beautiful fire bird touched down just outside the temple gardens. Folding it wings the delicate yet powerful creature withered away, revealing the guardian herself, Jahanarwa. Still, she was Black Star, outlaw queen of the infamous Grellon band. Her clothing was dark and a hood covered her face from prying eyes. Walking quietly toward the entrance, she cautiously looked around for anyone else. No one seemed to be here.
Even though Black Star was the Guardian, she had never actually met the goddess. She had never even been in the temple. Merely a child when the sky gem had been forced upon her, the King of Kai had the wisdom to keep her far from prying eyes and greedy hands. It was because of his wisdom, that she was a skilled warrior both physically and mentally. The King knew that the Guardian could not always work with merely magic, but also required skill and courage. He had given these to her, but had also allowed his heir to fall in love with her. As she plucked a delicate orchid and smelled its scent, Black Star was reminded of a time that seemed far away and long ago. She remembered Kasheem, remembered hiding with him from Rashok as a children trying to evade an annoying playmate. But there were other memories. He had kissed her during a storm as they stood under a tree, after the Spring hunt. Later Kasheem had asked her to be his queen. Though she was the Guardian, Jahanarwa was by no means royal blooded. Still, she now lead the remains of Kai. They had chosen her as their leader. But she would give anything if only Kasheem could return from Araxes' land of the dead.
A sudden wave of pain hit her and she dropped the flower. Again and again, she fell back to lean against a pillar. Her face paled and she bit her lip hard. Magrej and Araxes, she could feel that some dark magic was happening. But it had never hurt this much. Unknown to Jahanarwa, Araxes had just brought forth Kasheem to give to Magrej. Eventually, the pain subsided and fiery eyes looked at the sky for any sign of what just happened. Brushing herself off, she entered the temple. Raising her hand to her lips she wiped away blood that had been formed when trying to keep silent. Jahanarwa hoped that Magrej had felt the agony when she had finally released her own power.
The outlaw queen walked quietly toward the main room. Even Black Star was impressed by the temple's stunning beauty and the skill in the craftsmanship. White and gold were the main colors seen with accents of blue the same shade as the sky gem. That gem was currently located in the hilt of the dagger at the woman's side, as always. But Jahanarwa was a bit nervous. She had never met the goddess, though the Guardian was suppose to keep in close contact with Aravariella. Hopefully she would not be angry that the Guardian had not yet come to pay tribute. Black Star could lie and weasel her way out of almost any situation, but tricking a celestial being was probably not in her resume.
Finally entering the main room she gave a slight gasp. It was gorgeous beyond description. The long room had a majestic throne at the end for the goddess if she chose to visit mortal man. Black Star suddenly felt a tug in her belt and missed grabbing her dagger as the sky gem lifted itself and propelled itself across the room to the foot of the throne. For once, Black Star did not feel dizzy or faint when the sky gem left her body. Never the less, she raced after it, picking it up quickly and re-sheathing it. Oh yes, that would be great appearance wise! The Guardian having the sky gem running away from her, pah! But still, Jahanarwa was still. Better late the never she supposed, " Goddess? I need your help. My name is Jahanarwa, I am the current Guardian. I have also come to pay my respects...." Black Star's voice drifted off. She hoped Aravariella was able to hear her. Jahanarwa wasn't sure if she should expect the goddess to actually appear though. Not to mention, she really couldn't think of anything else to say at the moment. Hopefully though, she wouldn't get killed or anything nasty like that, hopefully Aravariella was in a good mood because Jahanarwa had no idea what to expect.
