With every step she took, Senca's boots sunk within the soft arms of the sand beneath her feet. She had lost track of how long she had been walking in this dreaded desert. She had pulled her hood over the top of her auburn locks to protect her delicate skin from the vicious rays of the sun hanging directly above my head. Sweat rolled down her forhead and dripped off of her nose onto her upper lip. Senca's pink tongue dashed from between her lips to take in the small amount of liquid, letting it water her mouth just a bit. She had finished off the last portion of her water hours ago and she was beginning to get extremely thirsty. Senca could see the mountains of the rouge lands in the distance though, and she knew she could make it that far, it was just getting through this ridiculous sand.
Senca had sand all over her knees from where she'd hit a soft spot in the sand, and fell multiple times, sucking energy from her body like a vampire would blood. It wasn't easy to walk through this stuff, even with as balanced and agile as she was, this was a challenge. Most of the time, Senca was stuck in the mountains, rarely ever leaving their cool refuge, but she needed to go into one of the main cities to get a splinter in her bow repaired that was far out of reach for her lowly blacksmith skills. So, here she was, trudging through the desert to get back to her home in the mountains and far away from this hell hole that she was stuck in for the time being. A harsh wind suddenly ripped through the desert, blowing the hood off of Senca's face and thrashing her light auburn hair against her creamy skin.
Senca dropped to one knee, protecting her face in the crook of her arm from the sand that was flowing with the wind. When it wasn't moving, the sand was harmless. When it was flying at you, it was as dangerous as a dagger. Once the wind stopped blowing as harshly as it was, Senca rose once more and began walking towards the mountains to reach her safe haven of the foliage.
Twenty minutes passed and Senca finally reached the border of the forest and the desert. She could already feel the coolness of its shadows and the dampness of its leaves around her, causing her to step up into a jog, getting closer to her destination even more quick than she was have originally, but as she did, something moved to the right of her only about one hundred yards out. Immediatly, Senca drew her bow, stringing an arrow quickly and pointing it in the direction the movement had come from.
