Hell's gates have opened, the demons released
Kazimir rode through the gates of the castle upon his new companion, Demon Inferni. The pitch-black stallion seemed uncomfortable within the castle walls, but his rider placed a calming hand upon his neck. As the pair passed, the guards turned to stare at the slim young man riding bareback upon a barely-tamed stallion. As if in response to the looks, Demon Inferni reared up with a loud cry. Kazimir leaned forward to keep his seat, and whispered softly into the horse's ear. It didn't take long for the stallion to settle down and move forward as if nothing had happened, which made the guards stare even more.
"If you want to live to see the sun set tonight, I suggest you get back to your duties. Immediately." The guards scrambled back to their positions, looking like kids caught doing something they weren't supposed to. A dark grin spread across the assassin's face as he and his horse continued on their way. The power he had in Murate was different from the king's power. Where the king gained his power through threats and armies, Kazimir gained power through his killings and reputation. Where Magrej was a man of words, Kazimir was a man of action.
Stopping at the stables, Kazimir dismounted. Leadig the horse into a large stall, he shouted for a stable hand. "This is my Demon Inferni. Treat him well. Be careful with him, though. He lives up to his name." He left the boy looking confused, and the sight brought a small smile to his lips. The boy had no idea what a "hell demon" Demon Inferni was.
The assassin moved swiftly through the castle, headin toward the Great Hall where Magrej was most likely to be. The king usually sat on his throne all day long, so it was a good place to start. Two guards stopped him at the entrance, demanding to know who he was. "I am Kazimir, one of Magrej's personal assassins." The guards seemed shocked at his casual use of the king's name, but he didn't care. Kazimir served Magrej, but deep inside, he truly served no one.
He walked toward the throne, his black coat swirling about his calves. When he reached the king, he bowed deeply. "King Magrej. The deed is done. The butcher Harley has been eliminated." He paused, pulling the pouch of gold coins from his pocket. Tossing the closed bag at the king's feet, he continued, "And his debts have been paid off." His red eyes stared at the king's mask, a slight curiosity to know what lay beneath sparking inside. He waited to hear if Magrej had any other orders for him.
