It had been about six weeks since Tryphena had been attacked and raped by Murate General, Rashok. Her physical injuries had, for the most part, disappeared. The blond haired damsel sat with her knees pulled to her chin, sitting on a flat boulder. Next to her was a dark-haired woman, Black Star. The outlaw queen was playing with the blade of her dagger and her eyes were in deep thought. The two women had been talking quietly on the mountainside for about an hour. Overhead it was threatening to rain, thunder rolled in the distance and lightening flashed in the looming dark clouds. Neither woman moved though Black Star had commented that it was a storm from Murate, always the worst. Black Star was trying to think of how to help this new plight. It could mean that the Grellon would pay a very high price.
Tryphena had never before asked the outlaw queen, her leader, anything except this. But the princess knew that she needed Black Star's help. " So...." Her voice drifted off wistfully and wearily. Black Star's eyes flashed as dark and dangerous as the clouds overhead, it made Tryphena remember the last time the outlaw queen had been furious with the princess. Tryphena had overstepped bounds and had paid for it. But now the two women were allies and perhaps even friends. Albeit, Black Star trusted very few even within her own Grellon. But this time, Black Star was angry at Rashok and now this trouble he had caused. Tryphena had been soiled, ruined, destroyed, and to add to her misery was this new glitch. Asterion was already head-over-heels for Tryphena and Tryphena was that way toward the minotaur. " Listen to me Tryphena, I granted you my protection. I don't care if the entire Ellsinorian army tries to attack the Grellon, none of us will let anyone hurt you. I assure you, Rashok will pay dearly for what he did."
Black Star had known just hours after the attack what had happened and she added it to the ever growing list of- Why Rashok Should Be Killed. Though the outlaw queen would have to move fast in order to kill Rashok before Asterion got to him. The princess pulled her knees tighter to her chest, " What about Asterion? Black Star, I love him." Tryphena was a bit surprised to see that this obviously was not new news to the outlaw queen. Obviously Tryphena still needed to work on the stealth factor, though that wouldn't be happening for a long time now. " What will he say? What if he hates me?" Her gentle tone quivered at the fear of the thought of having Asterion turn away from her. Black Star rested a hand on Tryphena's shoulder, " I've known Asterion for a long time and I have never seen him look at anyone like he looks at you. If he is really serious though about loving you, he won't abandon you. He will not be happy, but that will not be at you but at Rashok. Even if Asterion surprises me greatly and decides to back off, which I highly doubt though he may be rather surprised, then remember that the Grellon is still here for you. But you will need to tell him what is going on yourself, Tryphena. I will not take this step for you." Black Star stood and walked away, shoulders a bit hunched. Asterion would be devastated at Tryphena's news, but the outlaw queen would not allow Tryphena to simply be abandoned. The outlaw queen would however not blame Asterion if the minotaur backed away.
Tryphena though remained where she was, thinking hard. She needed to speak with Asterion before her courage left her, but how to say it? Perhaps she would think of it. Standing slowly and carefully the princess went searching for Asterion. Her gentle voice rang through the voice, though still carrying fear in its tone, " Asterion?"
